Cruelty Free Living is a quarterly Edinburgh-based newsletter that draws on the overlap between human rights, animal rights and the environment and aims to facilitate communication between groups and individuals active in any or all of these areas. The first issue was printed in June 1998 and copies were distributed to health food shops, restaurants and local groups. Seven issues down the line, Cruelty Free Living has been very well received among activists and other readers.

The newsletter was initially funded by proceeds from the Cruelty Free Guide to Edinburgh, but alas those modest funds disappeared quite fast. Now the newsletter is kept afloat through advertising and sponsorship. We are currently sponsored by
