Cruelty Free Living
Issue 2: July-September 1998
Editorial
Welcome to the second issue of this newsletter designed to bring together all those involved in Cruelty free living. After the first issue an open meeting was held to share comments, suggestions and ideas for the way forward. The discussion at the meeting along with feedback received both in person and by telephone have all been very encouraging. Those present agreed with the aims of the newsletter (published over), although it has to be said that the turnout was not as high as we would have liked. Hopefully the process of feedback and information sharing will continue and develop with each issue.
In the meantime thanks to all those who have contributed to this issue. Your support has helped us swell from 4 to 12 pages. Have a happy and successful summer.
The Editorial Team
striving to live in harmony with humans, other animals and the environment.
We hope you agree that these issues overlap and that the newsletter enables us all to step back and take a holistic view of how our specific interests fit together.
[nb "We" are Margaret, Jacqueline, Gerry and Sheila who produce the Cruelty Free Guide to Edinburgh, now in it's third edition (about to be reprinted).]
The aims of the newsletter are
- to enhance communication between different groups working in the same direction ie Cruelty Free Living (see definition)
- to raise awareness of the existence of such groups and their activities
- to promote networking and sharing of information and resources
In pursuit of these aims we will
- research, produce, distribute and fund the production of this newsletter every three months (January, April, July, October)
In return we hope that groups will
- supply information and articles for inclusion in the newsletter including contact information and events for the diary.
- distribute the newsletter amongst members and at stalls etc
