Scotland's Animal Voice: new network of animal groups

SAVE, a recently formed network of groups in the Edinburgh area aims to provide a forum for exchanging ideas for groups interested in animal issues by co-ordinating information and activities, networking, sharing resources and organising social events. It is hoped that the network will in time grow to include all such groups in Scotland.

Founder members of SAVE include: Edinburgh Vegans - currently meet up socially once a month and organise other events too. Also provide information on vegan diet; South East Scotland Vegetarians - for vegetarians or people thinking of becoming veggie. Aim to provide information, support and social contacts for vegetarians throughout Edinburgh and South East Scotland. There is a programme of events available; Edinburgh Animal Rights and Fife Animal Welfare Network - both involved in campaigning against the abuse of animals in our society. For example - vivisection, animal circuses, fur, factory farming and blood sports. Regular stalls, meetings and activities; Allandale Animal Sanctuary Fund-raising Group - set up to support the sanctuary financially by organising street, pub and supermarket collections, sponsored walks, car boot sales, etc. All moneys raised go directly to helping the animals.

If you would like to join or receive more information about SAVE or any of the groups mentioned above please see the contacts section.
